A recently retired Headmaster whose interests include the countryside its traditions, culture and history, nature, gardening, fishing and dogs. He may be old, have a heart condition and be slightly cynical at times but he still finds pleasure in sharing the things that shaped his attitudes to life and gave him so much when he was young. His books are written in a most enjoyable natural way with plenty of humour and affectionate nitpicking as and when necessary.
