The Féya of the Mittlevärg is a reportage based on a true story told to her grandchildren by an old Irish lady who had a close connection with one of the "Little People" at the time of the 1840's Irish Potato Famine.
Meet Chysta – the youngest, feisty, little bundle-of-trouble sister to Alyana and Saftya – and, of course, her "familiar", Whyffler...!
This is the Fifth story in the Féya Chronicles and within its pages we read how this rather crazy, diminutive, spectacle-wearing, and actually quite delightful, young ëlfnina – who is mostly considered as the "Third wheel on a Garryvän" – (a kind-of two-wheel chariot) – by all her elders, is actually very self-possessed and not at all too stupid, either..!
As with other books in this series, there is –
– … a full colour drawing – with a second copy of it – in which there are (12) differences to be found;
– … a Black-and-White Coloring-in page;
– … a Glossary of the most commonly-used Féya language words – with their pronunciations;
… a Graphic showing how each of the characters and their familiars are related and interface emotionally with each other;
– … a List of all of the words used within the story that may not be known by a young reader;
– … a series of questions encourage the visual and reading comprehension;
– … and finally, an extract from the first section of the next Chapter – about Türgün, the Tägge of the Lysning – (or Cheiftain)
We hope you will enjoy…!
