J Thomas Smith is an attorney, author, radio personality, mental health consultant, and internet marketer. He has directed mental health programs at hospitals in Atlanta and Houston. He has served as a faculty member and administrator at colleges and universities in Atlanta, Houston, and Los Angeles.
He is the host of "Sunday Morning Live with Dr. J Thomas Smith" a community affairs program on KMJQ/Majic 102.1 in Houston, Texas. He has decades of broadcast experience having worked in major markets such as Atlanta, Detroit, Houston, Los Angeles and Washington, D.C. He was also a Staff Announcer with American Forces Radio and Television Service (AFRTS) of Hollywood, California with his programs being heard in more than 50 countries, long before the Internet. He was the recipient of the BRE Drummer Award after being named “Air Personality of the Year on Pop Radio.” He has received numerous accolades from various organizations over the years.

Among his credentials, he has earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Behavioral Science, a Doctor of Ministry (D.Min) in Counseling, Doctor of Theology, a Master of Arts (MA) in Counseling Psychology and a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree.
