This story starts in the beginning when God created a perfect world. But then, Adam and Eve sinned against God. From that day on, all of humanity is born into sin. We cannot save ourselves, for we are all sinners. But God planned a way for peace between himself and humanity. He sent his son, Jesus, to pay for our sins.
Jesus was the great high priest and Lamb of God. He came to earth as a man to live a perfect life and to die on the cross for our sins. He shed his blood so that we could be forgiven and made whole. His sacrifice was unique, for he was without sin, and we have access to eternal life through him.
Jesus fulfilled the prophecies of the Old Testament that spoke of a coming Messiah. He was the one who would crush the head of the serpent, the one who would reign forever as a king. He is the one who sits at the right hand of the Father, interceding for us. God's ultimate plan for his kingdom is revealed in Revelation 21. He will rule over the entire universe with justice and peace. He will make all things new, and there will be no more pain, tears, or death. We are invited to be a part of it through our faith in Jesus.
