Dorey Duncan Scott is a mother of three, wife and fashionista and entrepreneur. She started her career in fashion back in the early 90’s when she did print, still and runway modeling. She studied Fashion Merchandising, Music Business and Marketing, while also obtaining certificates in such industry-necessary areas such as make-up, styling and runway choreography. In addition, Dorey had work as a spokesmodel for several brands, appearing in print and in person. She says she has walked some fun runways, filmed some great commercials and done some pretty crazy things to get through a show! Whether it be duct-tape hemming, paperclip tailoring or Band-Aid customization, Dorey wagers she has probably given it a whirl at least once!
But then, motherhood took the wheel and Dorey gained a whole other set of goodies to add to her bag of tricks! Although she put her career on hold, she never lost her love for music and fashion and quickly found herself designing and creating clothes, stage-wear and costumes of all sorts for her mini-me’s and their friends.
Gaining a reputation for her personal style and a name for her creative “Dorey flare”, she was asked to begin working again with artists, styling and managing their careers. On top of her business education, Dorey possesses a degree in Criminal Justice and Forensic Science and enjoys her career helping others in the legal field, which she claims is her mission in life. Dorey says she still has a love for the creative arts, fashion and music, as well as helping people sort out the on-going predicaments of life. After experiencing what she calls one of life's little shake-ups, Dorey now has redirected her path, once again, and operates her own ecommerce store. She also is currently working with her son to develop a clothing label. Dorey enjoys helping others pursue their dreams and, now that her mini-me’s aren’t so mini anymore, she says she has more time to concentrate her energies into rewriting the expectations of life after 40.
Dorey resides in her family home in Pennsylvania, along with her children, her husband and a self-appointed canine protection squad. She loves football (Go Steelers!) and enjoys music, Italian food and a good bonfire with friends. She has resumed her creative endeavors and is writing a blog about her journey called Voguegenics.
