I was a drug addict that went insane in 1969. That the most dreadful time in my life. In early 1970 I was lost, hopeless and living in my own personal hell. I stood 6'5" tall and weighed 139 lbs. My family doctor gave me one year to live. Visualize a skeleton with skin stretched over the outside, then you would have had an idea of how that looked on me. Constantly hallucinating 24/7 for months. It was terrifying knowing how badly the destruction to myself was. Deep inside knowing it was past the point of no return. There was no coming back from this. Without hope, security or peace of mind. I would go from the shack I lived in and wander the streets aimlessly for hours. Deciding one night to terminate my life, I first made a detour to my ex-girlfriends house to appreciate her one last time. She had no idea what was going to happen that night. She and her friend Judy were living together in a modest apartment off Highland Ave. in National City, CA. They could see the stress on my face and body. She said to me, " why not give Jesus a chance, what do you have to lose?" It made perfect sense for once, so I did. Praying as if that was my ultimate hope to live, because it genuinely was. Something happened during that prayer. My mind was lucid for the first time in months. The hallucinations suddenly stopped. I could feel the pressure release from my brain. The drug addiction that was compelling me was gone, but I didn't realize that until the next day. That night a loving and forgiving Savior wanted to be a part of my life, so He liberated me from myself. That was 50 years ago. I have never stopped thanking him for what He did from that night since. Now, everything acquired in the last 50 years is contained in all these books written or being written. There is a series of them. They are teachings called Life Lessons with a subtitle for each particular book. If Jesus can assist a godless wretch like me, then He is willing and able to transform your life too. You have to allow Him to do it. He will not force anyone to change. These books represent nothing more than practical guides to transport those who take the time to discover them to where everyone undoubtedly wants to go, Heaven.
