About Randall Swaney

Randall Swaney

A man comfortable with who he is. And someone who doesn’t mind giving his goal everything he has to achieve it. He once was the president of Naegele Outdoor Advertising. When he achieved that goal at the age of 30. Throughout his life, he likes fishing in his lakes, shotting at his shooting range, and known to be a good friend to his community and those that surround him. He has never disappointed them and remains a man true to his word.

Randall is a Southern gentleman. He is respectful, thoughtful and courteous. Raised in the heart of Dixie, Randall knows the art of storytelling. And he has some adventures, many you’ll read about in this book, that are worth hearing.

You’ll see that Randall is positive. He knows what it’s like to swing and miss. And he knows what it takes to hit a homerun. He’s experienced both. In all situations, he remains optimistic about the future.

Those that have had the fortunate opportunity to work with him have worked with brilliant people in the world. Some are rich beyond what you can imagine. Others are gifted in other ways.  And some have a great story. Randall has a great story.

Yes, this book is about Marshall Steakhouse, but’s also about Marshall Swaney, The Man Behind the Brand. You can’t separate the two. First, let’s talk about Marhsall Steakhouse. It’s worth talking about. A building that was originally part of the Batesville, Missippippi Convention Center which blew over during the iron phase of construction. Trees that he acquired and cut into beams, posts, walls, tables and bars. The restaurant seats 320 guests inside and another 100 outside. The food is second to none. The staff is as attentive as any staff you’ll experience anywhere. And folks regularly travel an hour or two each way just to eat at Marshall’s. It’s not just a meal. Some come every month. Some come ever y week and some alsomost come every day.

As his friends have observed, Randall is quick to greet restaurant guests. He memorizes faces and names. He honors Vets, particularly those who served in World War II. He participates in the meal anyway he can. For example, one friend once wanted to pull a joke on a family member. The joke was to bring out a really small cut of steak. This was especially funny since the family member was a large man, about 6’4” tall and once played college football. Randall personally brought out the steak meal and acted surprised when everyone started laughing.

If a World War II Veteran is in the restaurant, he’ll take the time to sit down and visit with them. He’ll ask questions and let the veteran talk and when it’s time to leave, he won’t even charge him for his meal.

As for Randall, the man, the restaurant owner and the man behind the brand, he’s charismatic, cheerful, ambitious and positive. He has a good sense of humor, especially about himself. Take a glimpse into his world by reading this book. Visit him at the restaurant. Bring along your copy of the book or get one there, and make sure to have him sign it or even take a picture with him. That’s that man he is…

His friends all say he is a great friend, so make him yours too.
