About Tish Henderson

I am Tish, the gal behind "Blog Writer Life". My digital writing journey started back in late 2009 when I read an offer to use snail mail newsletters to build my financial business. You see I went to school for Broadcast Journalism, and have always loved writing, but a tragic plane crash truly changed the course of history for me…

When I was studying Journalism at Syracuse University, one of the most horrific events happened back in 1987 when Pan Am Flight 103 was bombed over Lockerbie Scottland. Parents were bombarded at the U.S. airports with the first introduction of that news while they were waiting in the airport to welcome home their loved ones. There were about 35 Syracuse University students on that plane.

When we returned to School after Christmas break, my Journalism Professor asked us Journalism students who felt the reporters handled the tragedy appropriately. Two students raised their hands in disagreement. Yes. I was one of them. The Professor promptly told us we should rethink our careers, because we were to get the story at all costs.

That was then. This is now.

It took me years to really find a way to creatively and independently become a journalist and it really is through creative writing about things I love and the internet, my journalistic and writing love was able to continue.

My digital writing journey started as a side hustle. I had doubts that I could succeed.

I failed numerous times.

I’ve jumped from one thing to another.

I’ve found the work to bog me down.

I’ve had an uncomfortable misdirection to the shiny new object syndrome.

It was tough. To be honest, it’s still not easy.

Running a business of any type isn't easy but I'm telling you this to help you understand that it is possible, and it can be loads of fun.

What makes me unique from other online business "gurus"?

I use this website to teach others how to succeed by documenting things that I do in the trenches that actually work.

I'm totally transparent about my successes, failures, but also reveal my journey in fashion, gratitude and enjoying life.

By stumbling on this blog today, you've found a gal who continues to document the many highs, lows, accomplishments, and disappointments throughout the journey.

Overall, I found a way to make my love for journalism work with my love for travel, finances, real estate and I’m absolutely thrilled to talk about it all, share inspiration and make money too.

I hope I can help you play where you work. Live in that joy. Get semi-retired. Find your passion.

Which begs the question...What’s Your Love? What thing would you like to be doing? What problem can you solve?
